Since 1982, Systrand has specialized in high-volume precision machining for the automotive industry. Over the course of the last 40 years we’ve seen high-performance gears and gear testing become increasingly important to the automotive industry. We’ve embraced that, so that we can assist manufacturers who want to take their designs further. Systrand doesn’t just manufacture a part to match a spec. In this regard, Systrand is uniquely suited to help hybrid and electric vehicle (HEV/EV) automakers and electric motor manufacturers. We were among the first U.S. organizations to supply high-precision gears for hybrid and electric vehicles. Today, we have more than one million EV components in the field, and experience manufacturing every machined component held in the stator and rotor housing.
Systrand is especially invested in meeting and exceeding NVH standards and requirements. We have the tools and processes in place to ensure that our electric motor and powertrain components perform to these high standards. That includes an advanced 100% noise signature analysis on all NVH critical components. This process is capable of isolating “ghost order” noise and other extremely subtle sources of unwanted vibration and mechanical energy—something unique among EV part suppliers.
Meeting and exceeding OEM expectations means continuous investment and reinvestment in the equipment, capacity, and talent that make quality central to our operation. This has included advanced data collection units, hard- and electronic gauging, Klingelnberg Precision Measuring Centers, and performance-enhancing Zeiss CMMs. We continuously harness the data we gather, developing trend analysis that our internal engineering team can then use to perpetually improve our processes and products.
